We are glad to introduce you once again to the sonic world of Esther, a DJ & producer who is certainly obsessed by intricate sizzled rhythms with a penchant for graphic textures. Her take on experimental bass music twists the lines of club aesthetics while elegantly breaking codes of the UK dance continuum. She is the creator of an ultra modern thus unclassifiable sound, both mental & dancefloor compatible, crafting a clever blend of breakbeat, techno and electronica.

Reviving ghosts of the past as much as giving sense to future prospective, Esther’s music explores every shades of our historicity. finding her path between mythological poetry and dystopian dramas. Boss of her own label Doum Records, she started collaborating with POLAAR in late May with her breaking-through single « App Green / Hedon Hack ». This output has received massive supports and numerous radio plays from forward-thinking electronic scene’s mainstays like Deena Abdelwahed (in her last mix for BBC Radio1) or Osheyack from SVBKVLT (in his recent podcast for RA).

Her new EP on POLAAR is entitled by the lexical amalgamation « Pantome » (made up word from Pantone + Fantom) summoning the audience to taste the words, feel the color and see the sounds, as she considers music as an universal language. Through her unconditional love for written and speaking languages, Esther strives to transcribe into music what she fails to express verbally. This new record introduces a carnal fight between each pattern and her own sense of rhythmic looping.

Drawing up a strange, violent and even almost disturbing picture imbued with ardent sounds, she expresses a fierce desire to create a singular sonic touch of her own. Brutal and subversive, each track sounds the death knell for the misadventures of the past, without a hint of brightening up in its post-apocalyptic world. If the banks of the River Styx had an hymn, no doubt it would be in this EP.
